it is reported from Dambulla Police that a attractive 34 year old husband having two children had mortgaged-his wife to a friend to a drug addict friend for a sum of Rs 25000/-
The drug addict who had taken money from a friend over a period of over a month to purchase drugs had not been able to pay the capital and interest on time had handed over his wife in lieu of the borrowed money.
The friend is a 38 year old married person and in order not to expose this case to his legal wife he had taken a room on rent and had been looking after her providing her meals and other requirements.
The drug addict had later come to take his wife back .But his wife had refused to go with him and sought redress from the Police. The drug addict’s wife had confessed to the Police that her legal husband had harassed her and hence an inquiry was held by the Police between the three.
The two children had been under the care of the grandmother. As the friend had consented to look after the drug addict’s wife and the children the matter had got resolved at the Police itself.
