On the 1st of this month the famous character actor Mihira
Sirithilaka was abducted and had been assaulted and caused a severe
mental and physical harm and distress, had televised the inhuman attack
made on him. In this connection the authorities of the ‘Hiru TV’ had
made an open public apology from Mihira Siritillaka.
During the daily news telecast made last night by ‘Hiru TV’ had confirmed that the ‘Mega Bite’ programme has been since cancelled and the televised tracks of tapes have been handed over to courts.
The notice of the apology made by ‘Hiru TV’ is as follows:
“Because of the presenter Sunoj Fernando’s course of action we deeply apologise to the artiste Mihira Sirithilaka for the embarrassments faced by him.
At the same time this incident had been televised without the knowledge of the related authorities of the ‘Hiru TV’. This incident so televised will not be telecast in the ‘Mega Bite’ television programme’. As a responsible television channel this would never be telecast over our channel and the original tape pertaining to it has already been handed over to the possession of the courts.
At the same time they had promised that this will not be given to another third party.
The ‘Hiru TV’ channel is one that works in close coordination with all artistes and the close rapport maintained will be further maintained without any difference in the future. We reiterate that we will stand by what was said that the .’Hiru Megabyte’ programme has been scrapped and would not be telecast again”.
